The Holding I Offer

I practice within the lineage of politicised somatics and generative somatics, rooted in Black feminism, diasporic wisdom, ecology, and trans & queer alchemy.

Return weekly or fortnightly for regular holding.

Or book a single session as you need it.

Together, we tend to your relationships with lineage, land, humans & more-than-humans, in a way that feels generative, playful & sustainable.

My Approach

My approach is intuitive, multi-modal, and attuned to the nuances of your realities. I combine somatic guidance, intuitive movement, creative expression, ritual & relational mapping. We get to play here.

My way of being is both soft and unflinching, calm and playful.

Through deepening your skills in somatic awareness, I help you feel into the poetry of being alive, so you can move the flow of your precious life force with more intention and integrity.

Through relational mapping of ecosystems of friendship, partnerships, lineage & land, I help you cultivate interdependence & grow sustainable relationships that contain the intimacy & reciprocity you long for.

Through everyday ritual both private and shared, I help you stay connected to the expansiveness & awe of being part of this cosmos, even through the challenges of these times.

Somatic Awareness

I'll support you to:

  • Understand the somatic shape you currently embody: your conditioned tendencies, default reactions, the places you need help ~ and why they make complete sense

  • Explore how you inhabit your bodymind when there's more spaciousness, safety, rest & play

  • Understand what depletes and generates energy for you, and what supports you to move towards connection

  • Cultivate somatic practices that meet you exactly where you are

Relational Ecosystems

I'll support you to:

  • Map out your current relationships, both human and more-than-human, and identify what you long for

  • Spend time in an embodied vision for your future and our collective future

  • Practice the relational moves needed to bridge the gap

Everyday Ritual & Practice

I'll support you to:

  • Introduce intentional somatic practice into your everyday life in a way that feels accessible through both chill days and challenge

  • Tend to your relationship with rage, grief, spirit, rest, or play

  • Welcome in more expansive ways of sensing and knowing, through reciprocal connection to earth, lineage, and embodied alchemy

You'll leave with more capacity to experience heartful connection, to feel both rooted and playful, to trust your ways of sensing, to cultivate intimacy, to discern where to flow your energy, and to keep returning and offering your gifts to this moment.

More ease, more choice, more rest, more intention.

How we'll spend time together

Each session is a portal where you can bring all that's here.

_

You might arrive with a clear sense of what you want to explore - maybe a pattern you notice, or a relational wish you have, or a decision you're facing. Or you might want to sense into that's here in the moment.

There's space for feeling, for visioning, for creativity, for not knowing.

_

We'll welcome all the ways wisdom and energy can move through your body - as sensation, thoughts, emotions, gesture, sound, breath, tension, words, imagination, drawing, dreams, voices, symbols, sensory awareness. We'll follow your curiosity. With loving presence, I'll meet what you bring with creativity and care.

Alongside somatic practice, we might spend time weaving in music, poetry, intuitive movement, tarot, dance, astrology, storytelling, or anything else that's supportive. You might want to welcome in a specific place or plant or being or word or element you're exploring in your life.

We might spend a session crafting a ritual or deep in the process of mapping out your relational ecosystem. This might look like paper and coloured pens, it might be vibrant conversation, it might be embodying options through movement, or it might be quiet listening.

We'll close with integration, so you can carry what's been planted beyond our time together.

Each session is unique. Everything is an invitation.

What People Say

"Sessions with dia have been gently and deeply profound, meeting the moment and not being afraid to go into the mess of what it is to live and relate in politicised bodies. Dia’s approach is so whole hearted and authentic with relationship right at the centre.

There has been so much space for magical moments of connection, both through resonance and difference - which have deeply moved me and reverberated from the micro out to the macro and back again.

Being able to bring in embodied & relational experiences of queerness, trans-ness, race and neurodivergence and so much more has been invaluable. It is hard to put into words - I would highly recommend working with dia!" - Leni Rolfe

"dia's approach is person centred, direct, practical and full of care. They allow you to show up as who you are in the moment with not only zero judgement, but with deep acceptance of who you are and what you are bringing. I am letting myself fall back into life more, softening into the challenges and feeling out that which I have avoided before."

"My life has totally transformed in the last 8 months. dia creates a space of pure possibility.

In a society that tells you what to want and what to value, dia’s openness and honouring of uniqueness, difference and personal truth is a much needed light."

“Energetically, even though it was over the screen, what you put out there and how that relaxed my central nervous system so that I could go to some of those places that feel really uncomfortable to go to... that's such a gift."

“I’m feeling like my body and I are friends, like the relationship between us is much friendlier now. I’m more able to hear what my body is saying."

"I now have tools to break away from difficult cyclical behaviour...

I can pause, stand my ground and not be as affected."

“I’ve never been in a space quite like this before.

Something has shifted.”

FAQs

Your questions answered

What are your fees?

The fee per session is £85 ($115). Each session lasts 1 hour. Payment is due at the time of booking.

What kind of things can I explore in a session?

Everything is welcome.

The beauty of embodiment practice is that there's space for anything that's here for you in the moment. You may want to explore friendships, partnerships, community building, parenting, care-giving, land-tending, disability, creativity, paid work, connection with beings who have passed, gender, spirituality, sexuality, places known and imagined, art, or anything else that calls your attention.

And, within those explorations, all emotions and layers are welcome... anger, delight, fear, grief, joy, shame, sadness, uncertainty, and everything else we can experience as a human.

You may arrive to a session with a clear sense of what you want to explore, or you may want to invite a felt sense to see what's present. Everything you share will be held with care and confidentiality.

Do I need to know a lot about somatics?

No.

I'll adjust the practices to meet you where you are.

You might be an experienced practitioner, or this might be your first time in a somatic space like this. The only requirement is some curiosity & compassion towards physical sensations & feeling within your body, and a willingness to play with new somatic shapes.

Are the somatic practices accessible for all bodies?

Each practice and invitation is designed to be accessible for every body. My approach is centred around invitations that honour your body's capacity - what feels supportive, and what you feel like doing.

As someone who lives with a hypermobility disorder, I feel passionate about offering practices that meet you where you are.

Creativity is a huge part of my practice, and if something doesn't feel accessible to you, I will adapt it in the moment.

In what ways is your approach trauma-informed?

Everything is an invitation, without expectation.

My approach is centered around invitations for you to check in with your capacity and make choices based on what you sense you need.

Through professional learning and lived experience, I understand the need to respect and celebrate our body's edges and limits when being in this tender and expansive exploration of feeling. I honour & name the incredible wisdom of our survival shapes, and how our bodies have adapted to keep us alive.

This is not about pushing or getting to a specific place, just noticing. I call it becoming more fluent in the poetry of our bodies.

We move slowly, paying attention to the signals your bodymind is giving you - slowing down, changing route, pausing and stopping as needed.

I also offer different ways for you to process & integrate whatever's emerging, knowing that speaking isn't always what's needed.

Is this like therapy?

If you've experienced life coaching, workplace coaching, mentorship or talking therapy, you might be well-practiced in talking through and thinking through issues to reach insights or outcomes or solutions or to set goals.

My sessions are different - you're invited to spend time with your bodymind's holistic ways of knowing, which includes physical sensations, images, sensory experiences, energetic noticings, as well as thoughts and emotions... so that you can receive additional information about how you feel.

This helps you access a rich sense of your internal landscape, and receive more insight with which to respond and make choices for your life.
